C# is a .NET language! C++, though, can either be .NET (managed) or unmanaged. You should clarify that with whatever job you are hoping to work on :)
The thing about .NET is that its main language is MSIL (Microsoft Intermediate Language). All of the .NET languages such as C#, VB, C++, etc. get squashed into MSIL.
I am utterly confused here. I see different jobs and stuff for .NET or c# or c++, etc. I thought they were all a part of .NET? Why for example, are the forums c# separated from c++, when they are both part of the same framework? I seriously can not wrap my head around this. If somebody says "I need some .NET work", are they referring to any language within .NET, like c# and c++? Please help me!

I have just signed a contract to buy a new home.
The first step is to be eligible for mortgage.
During an interview with mortgage counsellor, she asked my visa status.
I tried explaining her that I was not on H1 and had not received GC yet, that I am on EAD.
But she did not understand it. She only understands H1 or GreenCard.
I am not on H1 since I changed my employer and it expires this October.
I have also travelled on Advanced parole.
Recent EAD is good until 2010.
Can anyone help?

The President has started revealing his plans on immigration for the next year. It sounds like he's planning on trying a do-over with Congress and attempting again to get a comprehensive immigration bill passed. He'll make the case for this in his State of the Union Address. I'm happy the President is still interested in working for change, I sincerely hope he is not making passing a reform bill his SOLE strategy. I'm reminded of Presidents in the past who regularly spoke in favor of something, but you just knew they didn't really care and were just trying to appease...

I have a question about multiple 485 filings.
My PD was Eb3 May 2002 and I filed my 485 last week. My wife was added to the application as well.
Now my wife's PD is current and her date is EB3 Jan 2006. Can we file her 485again and add me again as her dependent.
Attorney says no but I am not sure if I can believe them. Besides there is a risk of not filing again for her seperately as in the future the dates may retrogress. I would prefer that both of us have independent applications in as well so we can both fall back on each others application if the need arises.

Let us say someone has changed employers after 180 days of 485 application and has no plans to invoke AC21(which is optional) .
1)What is the process to switch attorneys(from Attorney A to Attorney B)?
OR alternatively
2)If we don't want to choose a new attorney, but want all the communictation(such as RFE to come to you), What is the process ?
I read somewhere that you can do this by filing a new G-28, but not sure of the step by step process and the documentation needed.
Appreciate as much details as possible from someone who did this.

These days with tons and tons of I-485 applications received every morning, how is USCIS gonna decide which one to process first?
If it's strictly on "first received, first processed" base, then it may well be that one guy with 3/07 PD date may have his application processed earlier (thus earlier AP and EAD) than one with 5/06 PD date. Simply because the 3/07 PD guy sent out the package much earlier than the 5/06 PD one.
Do I understand correctly?

I am an undergrad student at purdue. I went to a community college for a year and transferred back to purdue. I did not fill in any paper work or anything and I was put out of status as per my international advisor. I handed them a all the documents that were needed for reinstatement. they told me it take 3-4 months for reinstatement and i should stay the US in the meantime.
Now being said that I filled it on 10/9/11 and i am gonna be dropped from purdue on 10/17/11. I am planning on attending a community college for the coming semester and they will not accept me with a terminated record.
So my questions are -
1) Will immigration department check back with uni if i am still enrolled (note: i got paper signed from my advisor with my graduation dates on it)
2) Should i leave US and apply for a new visa and a new i 20 with that community college?
If yes, then what are my chances of getting a visa?
3) What are my options??
Please advice. I am at crucial crossroads of my life.

I have a request / concern / what ever you would say.
Please do not cirtize if you do not like the idea, just ignore and leave the thread.
There are so many people comming to IV for other experts guidance on different things mainly on H1B status, AC21 status, AP, FP, EAD and H4 to EAD, .....
Why don't you create a general guide lines or rules or do's and don't or QA's for each topic, so that each member or visitor who come to IV can atleast go through them before asking or posting quesitons.
You can create a survery for different kinds of questions people / members / visitors might ask or have fore each topic before creating the thread so that we can have a pool of questions and answers for each topic from experts or attorney answered. (you might say we have recordings from attorney Prashanti Reddy, but it would be good if we have some thing which can be referred easily i.e., typed.
These are just some of my thoughts, it can or cannot be implemented. It depeneds on IV admins/Gurus/Experts on this forum.
Gurus, please provide your thoughts.

In 2005 I (american citizen) applied for a I-130 petition for my husband who is an Indian citizen. (It was approved.) Then after that the case was placed under administrative review at the Mumbai embassy in India. It is still pending for over four years now. As of Sept. 2008 My husband recieved a letter stating the petition was sent to the USCIS here for review and possible revocation. We were told to contact them here for our case. They can not find anything on our case.
He is now in Canada on a student visa. Can I apply for a K-3 visa while he is in canada on a student visa? I was told he would need to go back to India for me to apply for a K-3 visa. USCIS agent told me to take the steps in applying for a K-3 visa for him.

Make sure your spouse has valid AP on hand while she travel to overseas...so that she return using AP at POE..so AP is must at this point as her AOS is still pending...
Also get advice from your lawyer in advance..
Thanks for your advice Webm...I will contact a lawyer as well. So what will be her visa status when she comes back to USA? Her H-4 is invalid now as I got my G.C. She has no EAD yet. Will she get into trouble assuming she travels with her AP?

I had my EB2 PERM filed and approved with PD of May 2007. Filed 140 for this already. Just today came to know that there is a October 2002 EB3 labor available for substitution at my company and matches my profile so I can use it.
What do you guys say, I only have two days left to file labor substitution, but my lawyers can do it. I have to decide fast.
