First of all, congrats to everyone in the final stages of this tedious and frustrating process.
I have a question for people who filed I-140 and I-485 concurrently and got their receipt numbers.
I have gotten receipt numbers for my concurrently filed I-485 and I-765 as I paid for them (PD April 2003, I-140/I-485 filed at NSC). I do not have receipt for I-140 after more than 2 weeks. My employer is not giving me receipt number for I-140 as he may be wanting more money from me. Now, I have read in a forum that I-140 when applied concurrently should have receipt number very close to I-485 receipt number and normally I-140 receipt number is less than I-485 receipt number (i.e. if I-485's last four digits are 4600 then last 4 for I-140 number will be lower than 4600 and close to it. So, in theory I can scan numbers prior to mine and find closer ones for the same date and track them.
If you can please check your numbers and tell me if your I-140 number is before your I-485 number and how close they are to each other, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.

Dear Sir/Madam:
I booked H4 visa appointment in Chennai Consulate on Oct 10th,2007.
My husband is working in US on H1b visa. He moved company A to company B on Sep 10th,2007. He has companyB H1b approval letter, but he only has one Sep month pay stub from company B.
When I am going for H4 visa stamping, I need to submit my husband's recent 3 pay stubs. Can I submit my husband previous company A pay stubs( June to Aug) with recent pay stub from company B. Is there any requirement to submit all pay stubs from one company.
Please assist me. I would really appreciate your answers.
Thanks and Regards
Sanju

Even if you are doing it with good intention, i guess is true, have you thought of paying royalty for using IV as a platform .Any takers!!!
I hear you Munshi. It is certainly a risk.
As an immigrant entrepreneur, unfortunately I have to take some risks.
I sincerely believe this will help my IV friends and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to help our community.

My wife is on H4 and with recent events, we applied for EAD. Our EAD was approved a month ago. I recieved mine but my wife did not. When checked with USCIS, they informed I have to wait for 30 days.
It would be great if the group can share thier experiances or has any advise on this issue?

Should the job title for PERM labor filing be in Job Zone 5 to qualify under EB2 category? Or could one apply in Job Zone 4 and still qualify for a EB2? Also, does having an MBA, exempt a person from EB quota under any of the proposed bills like STEM, SKIL, PACE, TALENT or should it have to be an MS in Engineering.
A quick response would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
After getting Employment based Green Card in EB3 or EB2 category:
1. When is the LATEST you should start working for sponsoring employer ?
(e.g. If card received on 3rd of the month, do you HAVE TO start same month or can wait for a month or so ?)
2. If salary, after GC, is lesser than mentioned during Labor stage, what problems will it cause for:
- GC renewal ?
- US citizenship ?
- OTHER problems (GC Cancelation, Deportation...)
3. What if, after GC, sponsoring employer gives termination letter with:
- NO reason ?
- reason stating bad economy ?
Please tell, for each case, what problems will it cause for:
- GC renewal
- US citizenship
- OTHER problems (GC Cancelation, Deportation...)
Thank You.

I have always stayed on H1B since I came in USA.
I entered in USA on H1B with Company A. Transferred H1B from A to B and B to C in last three years. Currently I am working for Company 'C' and my green card file was filed in Company 'D' in Year 2004.Labour and I140 approved and I485 filed and pending as part of Green card processing with Company 'D'(EB-3 category).I have never worked for Company 'D'. Not even spent single day at Company D. Now, Company D is suffering from 2008-2009 worst recessions and about to get close in one month. They already informed me. What are the options to get green card with as less risk as possible?
Please accept my appreciation and thank you in advance for your time that you will spent to help me on this issue.

tom friedman doesn't know about the details of this issue..... for him immigration means more h1b visa..... he doesn't have a clue @ gc mess...... there r others who have done research on this subject.... but those studies did not get as much attention.... maybe others need to come up with a shape... lets pick one.... lets say "earth is rhombus".... and then publish these reports... that might help catch some attention....

"THE CHILDREN OF H-1B VISA HOLDERS
At the 2004 Intel Science Talent Search, the nation’s premiere science competition for top high school students, the National Foundation for American Policy conducted interviews to determine the immigration background of the 40 finalists. The results: two-thirds of the Intel Science Talent Search finalists were the children of immigrants. And even though new H-1B visa holders each year represent only 0.03 percent of the U.S. population, it turns out more of the children had parents who entered the country on H-1B visas than had parents born in the United States. In other words, if critics had their way, many of the coming generation’s top scientists and engineers would not be here in the United States today – because we never would have allowed in their parents."
